engineering facilities.

Sea Systems Command Det Indian Head
Indian Head provides
special weapons support, explosives safety support, and ordnance
environmental support to the US, foreign military, and ordnance
industry. Indian Head has nearly 2,200 civilian and military
personnel, including over 800 engineers and scientists, who
design, scale up, and produce explosives, ordnance, and propellants
used in all major DOD weapons systems in 1,600 buildings (1,500
used for operations).

Space and Naval
Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SSC San Diego) is the Navy's
full-spectrum research and development, test and evaluation,
engineering and fleet support Center for command, control
and communication systems and ocean surveillance, and the
integration of those systems which overarch multiplatforms.
The Center's challenge for itself is stated in its vision:
To be the Nation's pre-eminent provider of integrated C4ISR
solutions for warrior information dominance. In addition to
the assigned mission areas of C4ISR, SSC San Diego also has
major leadership assignments in the areas of navigation, microelectronics,
robotics, environmental science and marine mammal operational
systems.

Operational Test and Evaluation Force provides an independent
and objective evaluation of the operational effectiveness
and suitability of naval aviation, surface, subsurface, C4I,
cryptologic, and space systems in support of Department of
Defense and Navy acquisition and fleet introduction decisions.
